There are several engine options for the CX-5. To begin with, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 187 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque is offered with the Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring trim levels. This engine comes equipped with front-wheel drive. Next is a more powerful turbocharged engine generating 227 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. It comes with the Grand Touring Reserve and Signature trim levels and is equipped with all-wheel drive. Both engines are paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. For 2020, Mazda is expected to add a highly-anticipated diesel engine to this lineup.
