What Does MAZDA Warranty Coverage for a New Vehicle Include?

Whether you buy a new Mazda sedan, SUV, or hatchback, your car comes with the following warranties:

  • A three-year/36,000-mile new-vehicle limited warranty. This covers defects in materials and workmanship in all manufacturer-supplied genuine Mazda parts.
  • A five-year/60,000-mile powertrain limited warranty. It functions like the new-vehicle limited warranty, providing coverage for defects in materials and workmanship in the powertrain components.
  • A three-year/36,000-mile roadside assistance program. If your vehicle isn’t drivable due to a warrantied part failure, towing service is covered to the nearest Mazda dealership.
  • A five-year/unlimited miles corrosion warranty. This covers rust perforation through sheet-metal body panels.

What About Warranty Coverage for a MAZDA Certified Pre-Owned Model?

The Mazda Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle warranty consists of:

  • A 12-month/12,000-mile limited vehicle warranty. This goes into effect upon expiration of the vehicle’s original new vehicle limited warranty.
  • A seven-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty that starts from the vehicle’s original in-service date.
  • Emergency roadside assistance for the duration of the limited powertrain warranty.

In addition to this warranty coverage, Mazda Certified Pre-Owned vehicles undergo a 160-point detailed inspection performed by a certified Mazda service technician. They also include a complimentary CARFAX® Vehicle History Report™, which includes the one-year CARFAX Buyback Guarantee™.

Is My MAZDA Warranty Transferable?

Yes. Both new Mazda vehicle warranties and Mazda Certified Pre-Owned warranties can be transferred to future owners free of charge. For new Mazda models, any remaining coverage from the 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty and 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty carries over automatically. On Mazda Certified Pre-Owned models, both the limited vehicle and limited powertrain warranties are transferable.
