5 Signs It’s Time for New MAZDA Tires
Routine maintenance can keep your car running safely, and the Mazda service center here at Med Center Mazda is ready to assist you with all of your car care needs. That includes tire service. Tire service can extend the life of your tires, but you still need replacements eventually. Here are five signs it’s time to go tire shopping.
Shallow Tread Depth
When your tire tread gets too shallow, it becomes impossible for your tires to offer the traction that you need to stay safe on the road. You can easily check this for yourself. You just need a penny.
Take the penny and stick it upside down in the tire tread. If you can see Abraham Lincoln’s entire head, you know that your tread depth is too shallow and that it’s time for new tires.
Excess Vibration
You’re going to feel some vibration when you’re driving, especially if you’re going over rougher terrain. However, if you feel more vibration than usual and you notice the problem often, the culprit could be tires that are past their prime.
Your Tire Pressure is Always Dropping
An occasional dip in tire pressure usually isn’t something to worry about. Pressure can decline over time and even a change in the weather can affect your tire pressure. If you notice that you’re constantly needing to refill one or more of your tires though, it’s probably time for new ones.
Obvious Signs of Damage
If your tires have cracks or other obvious signs of damage, you need new ones. They can’t keep you safe in their current condition.
You’re On a Donut
If you just replaced a tire and you’re driving around on a spare, or a “donut,” you need to prioritize finding new tires. A donut is not meant to be driven on for long.
