Mazda safety goes beyond the technology built into each vehicle. Through a new partnership with AAA and HAAS Alert, Mazda is helping protect drivers and passengers when they experience trouble on the roadside. At Med Center Mazda, we’re excited to share how this collaboration adds another layer of protection when drivers need assistance.

How Do These Roadside Safety Alerts Work?

A disabled vehicle on the shoulder can create a dangerous situation, especially when approaching motorists don’t realize someone is stopped ahead. Mazda, AAA, and HAAS Alert are addressing this risk through digital notifications designed to give other drivers an earlier warning.

When an eligible Mazda driver requests roadside assistance through the MyMazda app or by phone, a local AAA-affiliated service provider is dispatched. At the same time, AAA’s integration with HAAS Alert’s Safety Cloud® Protect technology allows approaching motorists to receive digital Slow Down, Move Over alerts.

These notifications can appear through compatible vehicle displays or mobile navigation apps in supported markets. By warning drivers about roadside activity before they reach the stopped vehicle, the technology encourages them to slow down and move over, helping reduce the risk of secondary collisions.

Which MAZDA Drivers Can Benefit?

This safety initiative is currently available to eligible Mazda vehicles covered by 24/7 emergency roadside assistance. Drivers don’t need to activate a separate HAAS Alert feature inside their vehicles to benefit from the service.

Instead, the process begins with a roadside assistance request. The connected alert system then works to notify other motorists using compatible navigation apps or connected vehicles.

The collaboration complements Mazda’s existing approach to safety, which includes extensive technology designed to help prevent collisions. Now, that focus extends to protecting occupants after they’ve pulled over and are waiting for assistance.
