New Year’s Eve Party Ideas For Kids

Though celebrating New Year’s will certainly look different this year, that doesn’t mean that you can’t celebrate with your kids. Try one of these fun NYE traditions or crafts with your kiddos this year!
Have A Faux Midnight
If your kids are on the younger side and won’t be able to stay up until midnight, have a faux countdown and celebration with them just before their bedtime. You can pop confetti and sparkling cider and even watch a ball drop from another year to make it feel more real. Alternatively, you could also do a countdown to noon when everyone is sure to be wide awake!
Make A DIY NYE Ball Piñata
Cover a large balloon in several layers of paper mache and strips of sparkly tissue paper to resemble the ball that drops in New York. When it’s dry, pop the balloon inside, fill the piñata with candy and small prizes, then seal it with tape. Hang the piñata up and have the kids take turns hitting it with a bat to free the treats inside!
DIY Party Poppers
Keep the kiddos entertained and give them a treat for later by making DIY party poppers. You can also use a similar process to make homemade confetti poppers for your countdown!
Firework Ring Craft
Little ones love sparkly things and playing dress-up, so why not combine the two. Help them make these adorable and easy pipe cleaner fireworks rings this NYE. When the craft is finished, host a family fashion show or dress-up session to show off your creations!
Party Animal Craft
These adorable party animal crafts are fun, easy, and double as noisemakers come midnight (or noon!). You’ll need small paper plates, noisemakers, paint, pom-poms, and felt or googly eyes to make this celebratory craft!
