There may not be that much else to do, and in the middle of summer, you don’t have to worry about the temps getting too cold. That’s why it’s a great idea to take a trip to Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama. This park may just be one of the most beautiful parks in the area. There’s so much to do there that your family isn’t going to get bored when you visit. Check out just some of the fun activities you can participate in when you go to this park, and you’ll see why it’s such a big hit in the local area!

Hiking

When you go to a state park, probably the first activity you think about is hiking. Luckily for you, Oak Mountain State Park has about 25 miles of hiking trails. That means you could hike for days there without covering the same ground twice. These beautifully kept trails will take you through some truly stunning scenery. And don’t worry, there are hikes for just about everyone, whether you’re always on the trails or just a beginner.

Mountain Biking

It seems like biking is gaining in popularity, and it’s not hard to tell why. People are looking for something to do as well as a safe form of transportation, and that’s just what a bike is. If you have a mountain bike, you can easily bring it with you to this park. There are trails just for bikers that range in difficulty, so choose one that looks like fun. You’re almost guaranteed to have a good time.

Fishing

It’s so hot out that you may not want to do anything but stay by the water. That’s easy to do, especially when you consider you can fish at this state park. Just bring your supplies along and sit by the water while you wait for something to bite. It’s a relaxing way to spend your afternoon or early morning, and it may just help you cool off as well.
