• Crossover: These vehicles are built using unibody construction. This means that the vehicle’s frame and body are integrated into a single structure. In this regard, crossovers are more akin to modern sedans in their body construction.

Technically, all new 2025 Mazda utility vehicles are all crossovers because they utilize the durable and sophisticated unibody SKYACTIV® Vehicle Architecture. This includes vehicles as diverse as the agile Mazda CX-30 to the spacious three-row Mazda CX-90.

However, some people refer to the difference between crossovers and standard SUVs as being related to vehicle size. If this informal distinction is used, larger Mazda vehicles like the eight-passenger Mazda CX-90 are sometimes referred to as SUVs instead.
