Did You Know?
For centuries, people from all around the world have traveled the Camino de Santiago in Northern Spain for a special pilgrimage. While they each have their own reasons for embarking on the journey, the trail leads them though prime wine country, as Navarra is renowned for its prized fruit and berry-hinted tinto. In the town of Ayegui, pilgrims may stop and refresh themselves at the famous wine fountain of the Monasterio de Irache. Those that visit on their way may pick up a scallop shell and imbibe the cool, flowing wine before returning to the road.
